You are not alone in feeling overwhelmed as a parent. The Surgeon General has deemed parenting a mental health risk due to unprecedented pressures and expectations in our role. This is a safe space to share all feelings we have as parents.

I’ve been writing about the struggles of parenthood on my substack. I’m now inviting tired parents to form a support group and eventually envision better solutions. I’d love for you to join the conversation.

Participation Vibe:

  • We love our kids but also need space to vent. No feeling is too taboo.

  • We each have our own struggles that are true and valid. We don’t need to compare.

  • We'll focus on authentically sharing and deeply listening. When requested, we will share advice or opinions.

  • Despite the new presidency, let’s keep politics out of the conversation.

  • We agree not to share or post our personal conversations in public settings.

  • Please plan to show up for all sessions if possible for continuity of community.

Disclaimers:

  • This support group is not meant as a replacement for therapy.

  • I coach individuals and couples. I will occasionally mention my services when appropriate.

  • All conversations will be kept confidential; however, I will likely write about broad themes in my newsletter.

Meet Your Facilitator:

Hi, I’m Sami!

I’m a mother of two based in San Francisco. Tallulah (8) and Elijah (5), married to Benjamin. We live in the Inner Sunset after eight years in Oakland. My background is in design-thinking and organizational change. After working in industry for 17 years and applying these methods to my own marriage for ten years, I help tired parents get on the same page to design a life they both love during times of change.
